It is indeed a sad ordeal that when one sets out to search for Pakistani vloggers, there aren’t many names that come up. This is probably due to the fact that Pakistan still hasn’t truly accepted vlogging as a real occupation and therefore hasn’t noticed the presence of many talented vloggers and content creators that live amongst them. There is a dire need to provide these individuals with the appreciation and recognition that they deserve. Therefore, here are just a few of the many talented and under-rated vloggers.
Laiba Zaid.
Laiba Zaid or more commonly known as her online alias ‘Bodmon Zaid’ is a Pakistani- Canadian fitness mogul, beauty guru, and media icon. Laiba Zaid found her first taste of fame and success on Instagram, where she caught the public’s eye due to the fitness-related posts she put up. But soon she branched out to YouTube where the community welcomed her with open arms and supported her as she established herself as a Youtuber. At this point, Laiba has over 503k subscribers on her YouTube channel, where she posts makeup, beauty, fitness, and lifestyle-related videos. Other than that Laiba also posts intimate Vlogs, through which she opens a small window of sorts and allows her fans to remain updated with the on-goings of her life. Laiba’s Vlogs stand out from other creators because they are as vibrant as she is, one look at her vlogs and the viewer can tell that the Laiba in the videos isn’t some fake facade that she has put up, but rather it is her real personality.
Shaam Idrees.
Ehtesham Idrees or more commonly known as Shaam Idrees is also a high profile social personality, who, if you live in Pakistan have stumbled upon at least once whilst scrolling down your newsfeed. He was born in England, on the 16th of October, 1988. But despite being born abroad, he still holds strong connections to his country of Origin; Pakistan. Even though he is most famous for his comedic sketches and videos, he is also a very talented singer and musician, with his most famous song being ‘London 2 Paris’. Due to immense natural talent and his occasionally funny pranks, it is no surprise that he has garnered the popularity that he has. On the other side of the spectrum, in addition to being a gifted entertainer, Shaam is also a very generous individual who spends most of his earnings to provide for underprivileged people. Shaam also has a thriving YouTube channel, where he posts vlogs and maintains a strong and interactive relationship with his followers.
MOORO Aka Taimoor Salahuddin
Mooro or Taimoor Salahuddin is a face that graces our screens quite frequently, as he is one of the major content creators and social media personalities of this era. He is most famously known for his comedic content and his parody videos. Other than being an insanely talented comedian and actor, Mooro is also a musician and has studied film-making. Mooro. Even though Mooro’s main platform has been Facebook, as that is where he gathered his following and initially emerged as an artist but recently he has moved over to YouTube where he has garnered over 191k followers. On his YouTube channel, he not only posts his regular artistic and comedic pieces but also posts vlogs. These vlogs are significant as they bring out other sides of Mooro’s personality and illuminates the genuine human being that he is.
Irfan Junejo.
In a place like Pakistan, it is hard to establish yourself as a vlogger, as the country still hasn’t yet fully grasped the endless possibilities and opportunities that come along with it. Yet, Youtuber and vlogger Irfan Junejo has been able to ride the harsh waves of improbability and cement himself as a content creator and vlogger despite the odds. At this point, he has more than one hundred thousand subscribers on YouTube which is not an easy feat to achieve. Other than that, Irfan also co-hosts a show on YouTube called the “The Jo Bhi Show”, where he, along with his co-host, discusses conventional and familiar issues that everyone can relate to. Irfan’s vlogs are not too flashy or complicated, they carry an air of nonchalance and simplicity that the viewer cannot help but appreciate.
Zaidalicious
Want to catch more glimpses of Laiba, well subscribe to her brother’s channel. Uzair Zaid is the genius behind Zaidalicious, which documents the lives of the Zaid family. Their family consists of Papa Zaid, the funniest one, Mama Zaid, the cutest one, Usama, the intelligent one, Sana, the prettiest addition to the family, Laiba, the queen, Uzair, the goofy one, and Cheddar, the most adorable four-legged friend. I promise you they will make your household seem normal after witnessing their banter and fights. Also check out Usama and Sana’s channel, Mr and Mrs Z, as well.
Bilal Khan
Our resident actor, sing/songwriter, and vlogger? So much talent all in one person, just WOW! His videos show us average people behind the scenes of celebrity lives. He features almost one new celebrity in every vlog, and we are not complaining in the least bit. We only get to see what Bilal ultimately uploads, but he is far more than what we get to see on social media. Their lives behind the glitz and glam are far more interesting, in our opinion. If you want to reach a new level of stalking, well this might be the channel for you.
To choose Vlogging as a career is definitely not a walk in the park (especially in Pakistan). To become a vlogger, you need to establish yourself against all odds, in a country where people refuse to give you the support or recognition that you need. The masses see vlogging as neither a real job nor a creative outlet, but the fact that the fore mentioned individuals have been able to make a place for themselves in a bitter society that constantly tries to demotivate them is a feat in itself. One can only hope that sometime in the near future, the profession of vlogging is freed from the veil of misconceptions that surrounds it and is given the respect that it deserves.
